Thyme is looking very comfortable in the first photo and maybe, just maybe, she is getting close to kidding??? Today has been horribly wet, nothing has been outside and the pygmies have done very little other than eat, drink, poo and rest!!! We are now completely unsure who we think might be first to give birth. Onion is looking huge and is really waddling now, Parsley is utterly enormous but her udder does not feel really full yet!!! Maybe they will all give birth on the same day - my word, that would be fun!!! Not!!!!
All we can do is to keep checking every few hours and keep our fingers crossed all is going to go well!!!!
And in the meantime, we had a chuckle this morning when we went into the poultry area and peered into the nest boxes. Our STILL broody bantam was obviously NOT going to move out of Banana's way whilst she tried to get comfy and lay her egg. There were of course other nest boxes Banana could have gone to or maybe, she had chosen that one first and the bantam had joined her. Whichever way round, they both stayed put.
Later on however, when we returned to collect the eggs we found Banana's egg in a totally different box and amazingly it was half the size it should have been. It looked as though Banana had moved after all but the stress of having to do so resulted in a much smaller egg... Let's hope that tomorrow things are a bit more sorted!!!
