Thursday, 12th March 2015

Another wet, cold and very damp day: alpacas and chickens braved the elements as usual, everything else stayed in. Lambs curled up with their mums (Mrs White and ewe-lamb pictured), pygmy goat kids snuggled up to their mums (the second photo is of Sage and Sultana) and the dairy goats ate hay, chewed the cud and lay down a lot. Neither Curds nor Pickle gave us any signs they were about to give birth and we all agreed their kids were better off staying put at the moment.
In better news, the ducks are now ALL laying which means we are getting two or three eggs a day. The plan is now to encourage them to go broody and hatch out some ducklings for us. More on this tomorrow when the weather is meant to be better and we can hopefully get some good photos of them.
