Day Three: 12th February: A day of lots of activity and not as much sleeping as the first few days: in fact most of the time when we went down to the barn to look at them, the ducklings were eating and drinking!! Ducklings grow VERY fast! When they first hatched on the 9th, they weighed around 50g. Today when we weighed them, the heaviest were just under SEVENTY (70g). That means some have increased in weight by almost half of their hatching weight in just three days. At 12 weeks mind you, some of these birds could weigh over FIVE kilos so they have a lot more eating to do... |
