Day Four: 13th February: Today was the day we opened up the aviary door so Pear and her ducklings could get into the main barn and start to mix with all the other birds. As well as being a much bigger area than the aviary, it also has access to the outside, although as the weather is cold and wet, we won't be encouraging them to venture out just yet... Opening the door was one thing: getting Pear and her brood out was quite another and, as the video shows, it took a few attempts. The big question of course was whether all ten ducklings would be smart enough to follow mum straight away, or would any get left behind??? Make sure you count... |
