Relaxed FarmingHow to look after us... (as answered by Mrs White). We don't need a lot of looking after, apart from at lambing time when it is best to keep a really close eye on us... and we do need to be well fenced in as that grass the other side does look good...

  • The grass is always greener: Read more

  • We really don't mind the weather: our fleeces are so thick and waterproof that we really don't mind being out in all weathers. The lanolin in our fleeces stops water getting through to our skin and so even when it rains heavily, we don't get wet or feel the cold.

We also don't mind the snow as long as we can still get to some grass (or hay)!!

Strong wind and torrential rain are not great however so some kind of shelter is appreciated here: a good thick hedge will do as long as it on the 'lee' side of the weather (the other side of the weather or downwind).

On the Relaxed smallholding we usually have the use of an old pig arc or similar and if it gets REALLY bad we are allowed in the big barn and given loads of comfy straw so we are actually very spoilt.
