Relaxed FarmingHow to look after us... (as answered by Mrs White). We don't need a lot of looking after, apart from at lambing time when it is best to keep a really close eye on us... and we do need to be well fenced in as that grass the other side does look good...

  • Don't let us get too hot: once a year our fleece needs removing, known as shearing. Whilst it is all very embarrassing and undignified to be turned on our backs and shorn so we feel 'naked', it is actually great once it's done as we are soooo much cooler!!

Shearing doesn't hurt us (it is just like having your head shaved - well you might not have had your head shaved but you may know an adult who has...).

As well as keeping us cooler, being shorn also means we are less likely to get blowfly strike (see above) or have other nasty creepy crawlies living on us. If you are lucky, you may then be able to sell our fleeces and make a bit of money!!

Mrs Brown, almost all sheared...
