Relaxed Farming
Why I am part of the Relaxed Smallholding? I was bought (along with Parsley and Sage and a naughty billy called Horrid Henry) way back in July 2011. I think the idea was to breed from us and sell our babies as pets - we do make fabulous pets!!

Things I love: Being a mum, being with my daughter Nutmeg, being the eldest and being really sensible, bleating at meal times, having a cuddle with our owners...

Things I hate: Nothing really, I am very laid back, though I don't like too much pushing and shoving.

I am very good at: Being a mum, keeping out of trouble, having my photo taken (I look really good on camera).

I am very bad at: Not a lot, I 'might' jump up at my owners occasionally...

My Family: I have no memory of parents but I have oodles of kids: 2 sets before I came here and then Blackberry Pie and Apple Pie (2012), Nutmeg and Cinnamon (2013), Iroko and Walnut (2014) and Apricot and Fig (2015).
Name: Parsley Breed: Pygmy DoB: Dec 2009

Why I am part of the Relaxed Smallholding? I came to live on the Relaxed smallholding in July 2011. There was me, Sage, Thyme and Horrid Henry (the less said about him the better). Our previous owner had lots of animals and wanted to cut down on her numbers a little...

Things I love: Rubbing my head on my owners' wellies, spending time with Sage, lying on our bench in the sunshine, being a mum is okay too.

Things I hate: A change in my routine!!

I am very good at: Being quiet and getting on with things without making a fuss, doing as I am told (most of the time...), waiting outside the polytunnel in case my owners come out with some greens for us...

I am very bad at: I 'sometimes' may push the others out of the way at feeding time (but Sage is much worse...).

My Family: I don't remember my parents but I have had some fabulous kids here on the smallholding: the Three Musketeers (2012), Liquorice and All Spice (2013), the very cute Satin (2014) and Plum and Grape (2015),
Name: Sage Breed: Pygmy DoB: Dec 2009

Why I am part of the Relaxed Smallholding? I was part of the trio (Thyme, Parsley and me) that came to live here in July 2011 (we don't count Horrid Henry anymore)!! I think our previous owner did not want to breed from us whereas our new owners did (and we have done them proud)!!

Things I love: Having back massages when I pregnant - they feel soooo good, my food, being with Sage, toasted bread (but they never give me enough...).

Things I hate: I don't like it when it gets really busy and noisy as I am actually quite shy.

I am very good at: Being quiet and not getting in the way... (though I sometimes hear my owners say they would be happier of I wasn't quite so shy...).

I am very bad at: I admit it, I like having a feeding bowl all to myself so do push the others out of the way (although I will share with Parsley)

My Family: Like both Thyme and Parsley, I don't remember my parents but I have had some lovely kids in the last few years: Musketeer Four and Dusky (2012), Treacle and Clove (2013), the lovely Ebony (2014) who spent all his time with the dairy kids.. and ignored his mum telling him to come back and Currant and Sultana (2015).
Name: Onion Breed: Pygmy - Pedigree DoB: 14th March 2011
Relaxed Farming
Why I am part of the Relaxed Smallholding? Me and a friend came to live on the Relaxed smallholding when we were just a few months old. We were incredibly shy and nervous at first. We were bought in as pets with the idea being to breed from us when we were old enough (see 'My Family').

Things I love: Having lots of attention and then having a bit more attention... cuddles, being a mum, my food, playing, in fact I love life in general!

Things I hate: Cannot think of a single thing I hate... well maybe I don't like it much when Sage shoves me out of the way at feeding time (but I get straight back in there...).

I am very good at: Not making a fuss when I am ill, my owners say I am very brave!!!! Being the first in the queue for greens or toasted bread, sneaking through gaps and getting into places I shouldn't be in (though my owners say I am very bad at this).

I am very bad at: See above..., jumping up (humans actually find this cute!).

My Family: My parents were registered pygmy goats who lived on the farm in Devon where I was born. I had my first kids when I was just a year old in 2012 (this was because I snuck out and spent the night with Milo, our billy goat!! Tut tut). One died but the lovely Leek survived. Since then I have had Pepper (2013) and Chestnut and Silver Birch (2014)
Name: Nutmeg Breed: Pygmy DoB: 20th Feb 2013

Why I am part of the Relaxed Smallholding? I am Thyme's daughter and I stayed here on the Relaxed smallholding because I was just far too cute to sell!!! My owners weren't really thinking of keeping any kids the year I was born but I persuaded them otherwise.

Things I love: Spending time with my mum Thyme, having cuddles.

Things I hate: Too much pushing and shoving (though I can push and shove as well as the rest if I get provoked...), being on my own.

I am very good at: Being cute, being very gentle when I am given treats (I don't snatch like some I could mention...).

I am very bad at: I 'might' jump up but my mum taught me to have good manners so I try not to do it that often!!

My Family: My mum Thyme is just lovely, my dad Milo was a real character (any naughty behaviour comes from him) - I quite liked my new siblings Iroko and Walnut (born 2014) but when they were sold, it was great having my mum back to myself again. My first kid was the adorable Raisin (2015).
Name: Garlic Breed: Pygmy - Pedigree DoB: 22nd Feb 2013
Relaxed Farming
Why I am part of the Relaxed Smallholding? My mum used to be part of the Relaxed herd but after she gave birth to me and my sister, she got mastitis and could no longer feed us - later she was sold as a pet (as was my sister)! I was kept to 'replace' her in the herd (plus I am very cute!!).

Things I love: Peace and quiet; playing with Pepper (although he can get quite rough).

Things I hate: Too much noise (I am quite shy although more confident than my mum was).

I am very good at: Pretending to be good then doing something sneaky like going into the poultry area and stealing their food.

I am very bad at: Nothing really, apart from the 'sneaking' thing above.

My Family: My mum (see above) was called Chives and my dad Milo (same dad as Nutmeg and Pepper). They were TOTALLY different in character so I am shy and naughty all in one!!! When my mum got mastitis, Onion gave me some of her milk so she is my second mum really!!! Love her... My first kid was the gorgeous Mushroom (2015)
Name: Satin Breed: Pygmy DoB: 5th July 2014
Relaxed Farming
Why I am part of the Relaxed Smallholding? My mum (Parsley) had an infection in the spring of 2014 which meant she became pregnant much later than the rest of the herd. I was one of twins but sadly my little brother did not make it. I 'could' have been sold when I was three months old but I don't think my owners tried that hard: I was (am) just too cute!!

Things I love: Standing on top of the hayrack lids and eating hay - I am brilliant at balancing on them even when the other goats knock them and make them wobble.

Things I hate: Being apart from my mum - she and I are really close and I get a bit stressed if she wanders off. (Yes I know I am getting a bit old for this kind of behaviour now...)

I am very good at: Forgetting I should not poo when I am top of the hayracks as sometimes it falls through the gaps in the lids which really annoys my owners. Sorry!!

I am very bad at: Nothing really!! I am quite shy though and as I look so cute, everyone thinks I should be friendly too. I may get more friendy as I get older....

My Family: My mum is Parsley (love her) and my dad was McTavish, a big, hairy goat that lived on a nearby smallholding. I never met him!!

Ex-Members of the Relaxed herd
Relaxed FarmingIn December 2014, we sold Pepper to a lovely lady called Ann-Marie who needed a companion for her goat Jethro. Jethro had lived with another male goat but he had unfortunatley died.

We were sad to see Pepper go but we felt he would be happier living with another male goat rather than with all our pregnant girls... The photo shows him with his new buddy with whom he gets on really well!

"Pepper spent first night in separate pen & hut, and yesterday joined Jethro & they both slept together in same hut! What a result. He is lovely!" Anne-Marie 8th Dec 2014

Relaxed Farming
Why I am part of the Relaxed Smallholding? When I was born I was really quite small and wobbly and I had this cute bent ear (my nickname was Quaver - as in the crisp!!). It was decided to keep me to make sure I was going to be fit and healthy! I am!! I am now WAY bigger than my mum (Onion) and I love a good rough and tumble!!

Things I love: Playing head-butting games, especially with my mum although as I have horns and she doesn't, I have to take care I don't hurt her too much!! Garlic and I play too and as we both have horns this is fine!!

Things I hate: Being ignored!!!

I am very good at: Being really friendly, visitors love me because I always go up to say hello!!

I am very bad at: I don't always like it when I am ignored so I tend to jump up and even nibble fingers - I think this may slightly annoy my owners...

My Family: My mum is Onion and my dad Milo and I have definitely got the 'naughty' gene from both of them. Garlic and Nutmeg are my half sisters as Milo is also their dad but I am closest to Garlic as my mum 'took her on' when she was little, (Garlic's own mum having got mastitis and so no longer being able to feed her).
