Dad!
Relaxed FarmingMarmite is this year's 'dad'. Jack and David 'borrowed' him to mate with us back in the autumn. He was a real charmer!!!
Read the diary entries from 20th September 2014 to find out more about him (you can use the Diary Index to find every day he is mentioned: under Pygmy Goat: Marmite).

We are pregnant for 145 - 155 days. As with other goats and sheep, the last four to six weeks of the pregnancy are when our kids do most of their growing. During this time, us mums-to-be need extra food and as much peace and quiet as possible. Kidding (when the kids are born) is a magical time for us and our owners (and it can also be heart-breaking if all does not goes well). Twins are usual, single kids and triplets are not uncommon!

Kidding does not always go well and sometimes we need help from our owners and/or the vets and sometimes our kids die... This year five of us produced eight female kids in total and poor Onion lost a male kid (he died inside her).

Read Our Offspring above to find out much more.
