Relaxed FarmingFascinating Facts (as explored by Parsley). We have a lot in common with dairy goats, we are basically the same animal, just a lot smaller (and cuter, and better behaved... well Curds may disagree with me here...)

  • Pygmy goats (or dwarf goats) come from Africa: Read more

  • We are generally no taller than 58 cms: Read more

  • We come in all sorts of colours: Read more

  • The Italian word for goat is 'capra': Read more

  • We are also ruminants just like the dairy goats: Read more

  • You can tell our age by our teeth: just like the dairy goats we have eight incisors (biting teeth): these are found on our lower jaw. At first these are small (a bit like your milk teeth), but each year, starting with the front ones, two new larger teeth grow and replace the smaller ones. By the time we are four, we should have all eight larger incisors in place!! Clever eh?

We also have molars at the back and a large rough pad in the roof of our mouth to help us grind our food

I 'might' be able to get
a bit more in my mouth!!

And here are my lovely teeth, they are not in bad condition for my age!
