  • Our skin and hair are great for making so many things: some breeds of goat have fabulous long hair that can be used to make clothing. You may have heard of cashmere wool: this is actually from a goat and is incredibly soft. The hair is shorn or combed from the goats and then spun into wool just like with a sheep.

    Cashmere goats live in very cold places and so a coat made from cashmere would keep you VERY warm!!

    Goat skins (that are left when the males are killed for meat - Hmmmm... did not enjoy writing that..) can be turned into all sorts of things: rugs, drums, boots, gloves, book covers, coats...
