Relaxed FarmingWhy keep goats... (as answered by Curds). We make great smallholding animals and in years gone by most people who had a bit of land would keep a goat or two. Why? Because we provide far more than most other farm animals...

  • Our milk is fabulously healthy: this is because far less people are allergic to it than cows' milk (which can make some young children quite poorly). Goat's milk is easier to digest than cow's milk and its 'make-up' is meant to suit the human body more.

Once we have had kids and they have been weaned, (that is they don't need our milk any more), we can then be milked for up to TWO years, providing milk every day for your cereal; just to drink; to put in your tea or coffee; to make cheese and butter; you can even make ice-cream and soap from goat's milk.

And did you know more people in the world drink goats' milk than cows' milk?
