Relaxed Farming Our offspring... (as told by Onion). Okay, let it be officially known that pygmy goat kids are the most adorable, most scrumptious baby animals that exist - we have seen grown men (and women) go totally slushy when they get the chance to cuddle a one-day old kid. Aaaaaahhh!!

  • And here they are - just take a look: it's quite incredible how gorgeous our kids are (have I mentioned that?). On the whole we have trouble-free births and our human owners don't have to give us much help.

We generally have two kids (to go with our two teats) and within 15-20 minutes they are licked dry and starting to look for our udder to take their first drop of milk.

We talk to them constantly in those first few minutes and very quickly we get to know their smell and sounds and they know ours. After the first milk has been drunk (containing that all important colostrum that gives them lots of protection against nasty diseases and lots of energy to keep them warm), they have a bit more of a potter about (and the odd bit of falling over) and then it's time for a sleep. It's hard work being born (almost as hard as giving birth!!!).
