Relaxed FarmingWhy keep Pygmy goats... (as answered by Thyme). Okay, we are NOT a traditional farming/smallholding animal BUT we can actually help to promote the rest of the smallholding because we are so friendly, so cute, so well behaved (well, most of us...). Our owners have us at the top of their paddock so we are the first animals visitors see - the small and cute factor in pygmies is really really high!!

  • We don't cost that much to keep: because we are a lot smaller than dairy goats, we eat less and so are not that expensive to keep. All we need is a couple of handfuls of goat mix twice a day and a hay rack full of hay.

If you have lots of vegetation we can munch in the summer, we won't need as much goat mix, but should still be given some to make sure we get all the right vitamins and minerals.
