Relaxed Farming - our farm in your classroom

Day Three: 17th March: Fur colour is really starting to show now and it looks as though we may have two that are pale brown. The kittens are even more active today and starting to really crawl, as opposed to just wriggling. Ears are more pricked up and eyes, whilst not open, are looking more ready to open. Sadly we found a dead kitten this morning. We think it was still attached to one of mum's teats when she left the nest, it then must have let go but not been able to find its way back. Mother rabbits don't tend to pick up their young at all, so if the kittens wander off, they are in trouble. At this age it is usually the cold that kills them...
