Relaxed Farming - our farm in your classroom

Day Twenty-one: 4th April - Today the kittens are exactly three weeks old and playing, exploring and hiding are very much their main activities, those and 'grabbing' mum for a quick drink of milk. All ten are still part of one big group and as far as we can tell, it looks as though either 'mum' will do when it comes to crawling underneath to find a teat. We cannot tell which white kittens belong to which mum but obviously we know that the back and brown kittens belong to Crumpet... They are not yet eating the solid food but will start in the next few days although they will still need milk for another three weeks at least. All their senses are now very well developed and life now is about continuing to grow and becoming more independent. We won't be able to sex the kittens until they are six weeks old at the earliest but we are definitely hoping for some girls this time round. In the meantime we will continue to enjoy watching them explore their exciting new world!!!
