Covering 1
The day that we had been waiting for arrived! The forecast was for very light winds and temperatures up to 15°C so we gave all our helpers a shout and laid the polythene alongside the polytunnel. As the polythene is quite expensive we moved stones and sharp objects from the ground and made sure that everyone knew not to walk on it.

As with all jobs like this preparation was the key - making sure that everyone knew what was happening, making sure that all the tools needed (spades, shovels, staple gun, tape etc) were to hand and that there were drinks and snacks afterwards...

The trenches were given a final clear out of little stones and earth that had fallen in - the dogs were told not to get in the way, and trees and shrubs were checked to make sure branches and thorns were not going to puncture the polythene.
